The Rift - Virtual World for Tweens

I was the creative director/producer for the creation of a virtual world for kids that had a philanthropic purpose. I created the entire world, backstory, characters and creative directed the visuals to make the world come to life.

We shot live action video and embedded it into the world. Users would land on an area of the world and would find a live action character idling there. Upon clicking on the character, a video would play, unravelling story elements.

There were also several games, tools and IM functionalities baked into the experience as well as a profile/passport for the kids to personalize.

Kids collected points within the world and could use them to buy items to donate in the virtual world that were then purchased in the real world. So what they did online equated to real world change.
