About Me
Flexibility
As a Product Design Manager, I’m gifted at holding the north star vision in the forefront, keeping both the giant forest and the specific trees within my purview and reach.
I’m able to context switch and multitask with ease, never dropping any balls. I’m an efficient problem solver who steps in, quickly assesses the issues at hand and rapidly whips things into shape. I’m not afraid to tackle complex problems or challenging situations.

Versatility
My toolbox of skills is wide, having worked in television, cross-channel TV/digital storytelling, digital marketing and advertising, as well as user experience/product design.
I was one of the first Content Strategists in Toronto, before people had even heard about Content Strategy. I've also worked as a writer, director, producer, creative director, copywriter, content designer, promo producer, and I've been on teams that developed new television series.

Freelancing for many years taught me to hit the ground running, learn from my mistakes, and to admit what I don’t know.
Life Outside of Work
I love to cook tasty and healthy food. I enjoy swimming and dancing. I'm a writer with several novels going in the back of my head (and on my laptop) at any given time. I'm a parent to a wonderful daughter who keeps me busy and engaged with the world.

Fun fact about me: I used to be a middle school teacher before moving into children's television. I have some very alternative beliefs about education and could talk for hours about this topic.
Prioritizing Client Needs
I’m passionate about advocating for the client voice, getting inside their heads to understand their needs and how our products can help to make their lives better. This includes ensuring all projects I work on meet accessibility standards to meet the needs of all types of users.

Leadership
I’m a natural leader who mentors not only my direct reports but also other designers in our department who need support.
Feedback from my employees has been extremely positive. They mention that I'm easy to work with, understanding, efficient, that I bring a sense of calm to the team, and that I’m the favourite manager they’ve ever had.

My leadership style is to value the expertise each individual brings to the table and to empower all to have the space to reach their own potential.
Stakeholder Management
I’m confident when working with stakeholders, ensuring they feel heard and that their needs are being met while also knowing when to push back in support of the user experience and my design team.
I maintain friendly and professional relationships with all stakeholders, even when conflicts arise.
I run a tight ship with meetings, keeping them on topic, on agenda, and on track. I guide the conversation back to the topic at hand when we veer onto tangents.
